Deccan Mudra very loosely translates to ‘imprinting Deccan Plateau’s Mudra (mark)’ wherever we go. Our paddy fields are in the heart of Deccan Plateau where we’ve tied up with over 150+ farmer communities to grow this unique, healthy and non-GMO variant of Low GI white rice.

Our Roots

Deccan Mudra was established during the pandemic lockdown, as we engaged in thought-provoking discussions about the future of food and agriculture. Our search for ways to make a positive impact on the Food Map led us to partner with farmers cultivating Telangana Sona, a new and healthier low GI rice alternative to the widely popular Sona Masoori rice. Licensed by PJSTAU, this unique grain of rice aids in healthy, guilt-free eating.

This unique quality has led us to strongly  believe that Telangana Sona has enormous potential in the global market as people are increasingly opting for healthy and tasty alternatives  that are also climate-smart.

Deccan Mudra is the brainchild of a couple of 30-somethings with experience across the food industry, sales, marketing, and… well… cooking. We love our comfort staples like dal rice or Alu paratha with a healthy low GI spin to it.
