The Deccan Mudra Story

Deccan Mudra loosely translates to “imprinting the Deccan Plateau’s mark” wherever we go. Our paddy fields, situated in the heart of the Deccan Plateau, collaborate with over 150+ farmer communities to grow unique, healthy, and non-GMO low glycemic index (GI) staples.

Our Roots

Deccan Mudra was founded during the pandemic lockdown through thought-provoking discussions about the future of food and agriculture. Our quest to make a positive impact on the food map led us to partner with farmers cultivating Telangana Sona, a healthier low GI rice alternative to the popular Sona Masoori rice. Licensed by PJTSAU, this unique grain supports healthy, guilt-free eating.

We believe that Telangana Sona holds enormous potential in the global market as people increasingly seek healthy and tasty alternatives that are also climate-smart.

Our Mission

Deccan Mudra aims to enhance the food supply chain by providing healthy, low GI options that cater to consumer wellness and support the livelihoods of our farmers through ethical sourcing and cultivation through sustainable practices.

Our Values

Guided by a commitment to sustainability and ethical practices, we work with farmers who use eco-friendly and chemical-free farming methods. This ensures our products are free from harmful chemicals and pesticides. We source directly from farmers, eliminating middlemen and ensuring fair practices.
